The shot stopper of the Nigeria U-23 team Emmanuel Daniel won’t be joining Israeli side Maccabi Haifa Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively report.
Daniel was proposed to the team by an agent with strong connection with Nigerian players and the first choice netminder of the Nigeria Olympic team impressed scouts of the team on three occasion when they came to watch him.
Maccabi Haifa were hoping their 32 year old Serbian goalkepper Vladimir Stojkovic will leave the club this summer and Daniel was already been lined up as his replacement.
However the failure of the team who recently signed Daniel’s U-23 teammate Ubong Ekpai to trade the first choice goalkepper has killed any hope of a potential move for the Enugu Rangers man.
If he had moved to the Isreali side he would have toed same line as former Super Eagles captain and goalkepper Vincent Enyeama, the man he has been severally compared to in using Israel as a launch pad for his European career.
Also Israel have been home to Nigeria goalkeppers of late aside Vincent Enyeama, Austin Ejide and Dele Aiyenugba are also known name in the nation due to their abilities between the sticks for Isreali teams.
