According to leaks gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com Wolverhampton Wanderers highly rated teen defender Dominic Iorfa could represent Nigeria at the Olympics in Rio.
We gathered the 20 year old is seriously under consideration by handlers of the Nigeria U-23s as a replacement for Segun Oduduwa who has been ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury picked up last month during training.
The likes of Chelsea’s Kenneth Omeruo and FK Haugesund captain William Troost Ekong have also been sounded out by the team handlers with some reports claiming another established Super Eagles defender Godfrey Obaboana could replace the injured Oduduwa.
Iorfa chances of making the team will be decided by the handlers this week possibly after assessing the various options at their disposal as they aim to fortify the defence of the team which is still a very big concern with the Olympics few months away.
Although Iorfa has represented England at youth level and only recently helped their U-21s lift the Toulon youth cup, he is still very much open to a switch to Nigeria the country where his family resides.
His Dad Dominic Iorfa played for Queens Park Rangers during his playing days and represented Nigeria at international level and according to him the West Ham United and Crystal Palace target will in the future play for Nigeria.
