Former Barcelona U-19s captain Godswill Elohor won’t be going to the Rio 2016 Olympic games with the Nigeria U-23s as he is not in the list of players for their training camp in the USA.
Nigeria will travel to Atlanta on the 29th of July for the final stage of their preparations for the football event of the Rio 2016 Olympics where they are in group B alongside Sweden,Colombia and Japan.
Elohor was heavily tipped to be included in the team after posting an above average performance in a friendly game against Brazil in Rio but the 21 year old didn’t do enough to convince the handlers of the team.
The Samson Siasia lead technical crew settled for Sincere Seth and Musa Mohammed with Shehu Abdullahi also able to play as a right full back ahead of Elohor who was a regular for Barcelona at B team level last season in the third division.
Contracted to Barcelona till the summer of 2018 he will now turn his attention towards making the step up in his club career which could earn him a call up to the senior national team of Nigeria in the future.
