Former captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Joseph Yobo has put pen to paper on an ambassadorial contract that will see him play 12 games before the conclusion of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League.
The announcement was made on the twitter handle of the League Management Company (LMC) the body responsible for organizing the Nigeria Professional League (NPFL).
Details of the deal as released by the LMC confirms Yobo will play under the Elite Players Scheme which Sani Kaita benefitted from two seasons ago and already league leaders Wikki Tourist,Kano Pillars and big spenders Ifeanyi Uba FC are jostling for his services.
35 year old Yobo last played for Norwich City in 2014 where he played eight times but has represented Standard Liege,Marseille,Everton and Fenerbache before quitting football last year.
A testimonial was held for the man who currently holds the record for record caps in the history of the Nigeria national team.
