Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal that Barcelona teen full back Godswil Elohor Ekpolo has been handed a late call up to the Nigeria U-23s.
Elohor was initially excluded from the list of players for the team pre Olympic camp in the USA but coach Samson Siasia later had a rethink and extended invitation to the 21 year old according to team sources.
He will now join the team in their training in Abuja before possibly joining them on their tour to the USA where he will push for a spot with the likes of Musa Mohammed and regular right back Sincere Seth.
The full back who is highly rated by Barcelona made his debut for the team in a friendly game against Brazil which Nigeria won in Rio one nil, coming on as a substitute for Musa Mohammed.
Highly rated by Barcelona, he was one of their captains when their U-18s won the UEFA Youth League two seasons ago earning himself a professional contract and promotion to the B team.
Injury stopped him from making his debut for the B team two seasons ago but last season he was among one of the regular players in the team making the third highest number of appearance.
