Israeli top division side Ironi Kiryat Shmona have dragged Nigerian forward Austin Amutu for reportedly agreeing a deal with Turkish side Yeni Malayatspor while still under contract with them.
At the resumption of training ahead of the start of next season ,Shmona counted the Nigerian as part of their foreign players and only added three foreign players in respect to the rule in Israel on foreign players mandating each team not to have more than five in their team.
However few days into their pre season training Amutu was no where to be found and all efforts to get across to him or his agent proved abortive until reports started circulating that the scorer of five goals last season is in Turkey holding talks with a team in the land.
Amutu joined the Israeli side at the start of last season on a deal which gives Shmona the power to extend his deal for a further year which they used but the player and his representative Marcelo Houseman went ahead to hold talks with Yeni Malayatspor of Turkey claiming the 23 year old is a free player and even went as far as signing a three year deal.
Shmona got wind of the news and sent papers to the Turkish team to prove that Amutu’s contract still has a year to run but his agent Houseman disagrees with their claims which has lead them to world football governing body FIFA.
Yeni Malayatspor on their part are furious with the player and his agent for lying to them about the true status of the player which could cause the deal to collapse instead of going through this week as reported by Owngoalnigeria.com.
