Nigeria international Alex Iwobi and soon to be international Chuba Akpom were among 14 first team players who returned back to pre season training with Arsenal today.
Iwobi who had a breakthrough season at Arsenal last season is now a full international with Nigeria while Akpom who was on loan to newly promoted Premier League side Hull City last season has reportedly snub England and will feature for Nigeria in their next friendly game.
While Iwobi is guarantee to remain at Arsenal with the first team next season expectedly to build on his strong finish to last season same can’t be said about Akpom who could find himself further down the pecking order if Arsenal sign a striker like they intend to this summer.
The duo alongside Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain,Mathieu Debuchy,Per Mertesacker,Gabriel,Nacho Monreal,Mohammed Elneny,Theo Walcott,Yaya Sanogo,Kieran Gibbs,Calum Chambers and Serge Gnabry were all present in training alongside some youngsters from the reserve team.
Manager Arsene Wenger will get the full compliment of his first team players before the end of the month as most of them were granted extended leave following their involvement with their various national team.
