FC Porto 23 year old Nigerian midfielder Mikel Agu is few details away from joining fellow Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.
Mikel was ordered back by FC Porto from the Nigeria U-23 camp in Abuja but he presently doesn’t feature in the plans of first team manager Nuno Espirito Santo hence the decision to let him leave on loan to a team where he is sure of getting games.
We gathered talks with Pacos de Ferreira are progressing nicely and FC Porto are currently the reason why the move is yet to be completed as they want Mikel to sign an extension before heading out on loan with his current deal close to running out.
He has been at FC Porto since 2012 but injuries have so far restricted him to just two senior appearances for the first team as he was on the verge of cementing a spot in the team when he got injured in pre season training shortly before the start of the 2014/2015 season.
Last season he endured a frustrating spell on loan to Club Brugge of Belgium where he made just two appearances for the champions of Belgium all through the season.
