LITTLE KNOWN DREAM TEAM VI INVITEE FIRES BELGIAN SIDE TO PRE SEASON WIN

Anthony Bassey who was in 2014 called up by the coach of the Nigeria U-23s Samson Siasia for camping scored the opener in his team Eupen 2-1 win over Union Saint Gilloise in a pre season game.

Predominantly a central midfielder he showed an instinct synonymous with forward by popping up in the box to give his team the lead in their first real test in pre season.

21 year old Bassey has been at the Belgian second division side since 2012 and has played 73 times for the team with 9 goals to his name.

He is teammate to three other Nigerian at the club that has a player exchange agreement with Qatar’s famed Aspire Academy with the Nigerians all discovered during the academy’s trial in Nigeria.

The other Nigerians at the team bar Bassey are Alma Wakili,Henry Oyekuru and Odeni George Jamabo.
