The fine form of the Nigerian duo of Gbolahan Salami and Nnamdi Oduamadi bailed out their respective teams in the round of 16 of the Finnish Veikkausliiga league.
KuPS paraded their Nigerian quartet of Paul Onobi,Aliyu Abubakar,Azubuike Egwuekwe and Gbolahan Salami for the entire duration of the game and had no cause to regret the decision as one of them popped up with the winner.
Salami as it has been the case for KuPS in most of their games this season scored the match winner in their 1-0 win over HIFK his sixth of the season which moved them to third on the log standing in the league.
AC Milan loanee, Nnamdi Oduamadi who has been enjoying a stellar season for HJK alongside the Nigerian duo of Taiye Taiwo and Vincent Onovo opened scoring in the 55th minute for the table toppers before Nikolai Alho rounded up the victory with a second goal four minutes from full time to give them a 2-0 win over PS Kemi.
However while Taiwo lasted the entire duration of the game, Oduamadi was replaced with two minutes left to play in the game while Onovo wasn’t listed at all as he is yet to fully recover from an injury picked up last month.
