Besiktas have made contact with Carpi over the availability of of Nigerian forward Jerry Mbakogu who is reportedly keen on a move away from the relegated Serie A side.
Transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla reports that the 23 year old was today mentioned by the Turkish chapions who are in Italy negotiating a deal for Ac Milan forward Suso.
However Besiktas are facing competition from Russian side Krylya Sovetov Samara who are also eyeing the forward after failing to land him last summer due to the asking price of Carpi who were reluctant to sell the forward after his 15 goals powered them to the Serie A.
This time around Carpi have lowered their asking price to a fee reportedly in the region of €2.5m and report indicates that Besiktas have already slapped in a bid of €1.5m.
Last season Mbakogu failed to match his goal scoring feat in the Serie B as he ended the season with just two goals from 24 games painfully missing two penalties in a game against Lazio which they lost 1-3.
