Nigeria U-20 forward Orji Okonkwo who has been offered to English Premiership side Tottenham Hotspurs has denied signing a contract with Italian Serie B side Spezia.
Reports in some media outlets are of the opinion that the 18 year old has put pen to paper on a three year deal with Spezia but the U-17 world cup winner has come out to deny the move and also clarified who his real agent is.
“I have not sign with any team for now, my agent Danny Shittu is presently in talks with Spezia over their contract proposal to me but for now am yet to sign the deal as reported by some, infact have been in camp for the last four months so how possible is it for me to sign a deal” He told Owngoalnigeria.com
” I also want the world to know I have a contract with former Nigeria international Danny Shittu to represent me, so he alone can speak on my behalf and outside him I don’t have any other agent am contracted to”.
One of the pillars of the present Nigeria U-20 who recently defeated Sudan away in Omdurman, the forward who is back in the country with the Flying Eagles spent time with Spezia before joining the Nigeria U-17 team.
He was loaned to Serie D side USD Lavagnese by Spezia but left for the U-17 camp midway through his loan and has since not returned back to the team since winning the U-17 World Cup with Nigeria in Chile.
