Super Eagles defender Efe Ambrose and his Celtic teammates have made the worst possible start to their Uefa Champions League campaign under new manager Brendan Rodgers by losing 1-0 to Gibraltar semi professional side Lincoln Red Imps FC.
Gibraltar as a country were only recently admitted by UEFA as a member of their association in 2014 and Lincoln Red Imps have represented them in the Champions League last year drawing at home before losing 5-2 to HB of Faroe Island.
However this evening they made history by becoming the first team from the tiny nation of Gibraltar to win a game in Europe when they shock Scottish Champions Celtic 1-0 in front of their fans at the Victoria Stadium.
The defeat will go down as one of Celtic worst ever loss in the history of the UEFA Champions League with Ambrose failing to rescue his side despite been on for the entire duration of the game
They will travel to Scotland to take on Celtic in the return leg in two weeks time where they will be hoping to go a step further than they did last time out.
