Former Super Eagles forward Victor Obinna Nsofor is currently on trial with German Bundesliga side SV Darmstadt 98, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Nsofor started training with the team that once had Leon Balogun on their books at the start of the week and could earn a contract if he impresses in training and test games.
Owngoalnigeria.com can also reveal that two weeks ago the 29 year old lost out on a deal to an unnamed Chinsese Super League side due to his excessive wage demands.
Last season he played 15 times for second division side MSV Duisburg where he scored thrice but couldn’t stop them from dropping to the third division in Germany.
Well travelled and experienced he has had spells in Italy with Chievo and Inter Milan before moving to Spain where he played for Malaga on loan with another loan spell in England with West Ham following suit.
He was sold to Lokomotive Moscow of Russia by Inter Milan after his unsuccessful loan spells away from the Guiseppe Meazza Stadium but the forward lost his way in Russia spending three unhappy seasons before returning to Chievo on loan.
