French Ligue 1 side Rennes are favourite to land 27 year old Nigerian winger John Chibuike despite strong interest from Turkish team Kayserispor.
Chibuike is a free player following the termination of his contract by Turkish side Gaziantepspor after two seasons but the Nigerian who can operate as a winger or central midfielder presently has more than one club jostling to sign him.
Turkish top division side Kayserispor were initially thought to be the favourite for his signature due to his desires to remain in Turkey but French side Rennes in the last few hours have offered him a better deal than that of Kayserispor.
Rennes we gathered wants to pay the forward more in terms of wages and bonus unlike the Turks and Chibuike experience with teams in Turkey as regards unfulfilled wage promises could see the Nigerian opt for a move to France.
His future will reportedly be sorted out before the end of this month with China also an option for him after his former side Gaziantepspor blocked a move to the Far East in January.
