Nigeria are making move to cap 18 year old Southampton teen sensation Olufela Olomola ahead of England, according to leaks exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com.
Southampton have a good reputation for developing top young talents over the years. The likes of Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain,Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana among others have all come through the ranks at the club with being given a chance at the first team at some point in time.
Up next appears to be an English teen with Nigerian roots in Olufela Olomola who arrived Southampton from fellow Premier League side Arsenal in 2014 and he is simply refereed to as Fela by his close friends and teammates
Olomola made the bench for the first team of Southampton last season in the Premier League in their game against Sunderland, a sign of how much he is regarded by the English Premier League side.
Comfortable as a central striker or as a winger, He cults an imposing figure, big in appearance and strong in strength, two qualities that has made pundits to predict he won’t struggle to fit into the demands of first team football even though he is just 18.
Yet to be called up by England at any level, the Nigeria U-20 have listed him among potential additions to the team who are presently in camp ahead of their return leg tie against Sudan in Nigeria in the race to be at next year Africa Youth Championship in Zambia.
” We are aware of his availability as a matter of fact we are close to having contacts with him, he is on our list of potential invitee to the Flying Eagles” Aliyu Mohammed team secretary of the Nigeria U-20 told Owngoalnigeria.com.
