Hakeem Wakawa First To Breach U-17 Defence As Eaglet Force Welcome Time Academy To 1-1 Draw

The Nigeria U-17 survived a major scare that almost ended their perfect run in their friendly games ahead of next month 2017 Africa Under-17 qualifying series against Niger Republic.

The Golden Eaglet attack have been scoring goals for fun while their defence has been very mean conceding none in return but Welcome Time Academy from Kano breached their backline and almost ran away with a victory.

Hakeem Wakawa became the first player to net against the Manu Garba assembled side when he put Welcome Academy ahead in the first half, the first goal the Eaglet were conceding in over 270 minutes of football.

The goal brought out the fighting spirit in the Nigerian lad who came out fighting and few minutes into the second half drew level after a sustained spell of pressure.

However Welcome Time Academy could still have snatched all points as they missed a glorious chance to retake the lead via the spot when they were awarded a spot kick minutes after the Golden Eaglet equaliser.
