FC Porto teen defence sensation Chidozie Awaziem has dumped his last season shirt number 63 for a new number, a sign of the remarkable progress he has made since joining the team 18 months ago El-Kanemi Juniors of Jos.
Awaziem made 10 league appearances for FC Porto last season and earned positive reviews for his performances which made the club hand him a fresh five year deal with a buy out clause of over 20 million Euros.
Ahead of the start of next season, the 19 year old who is sure to be a main stay in the central defence will play in jersey number 22, Owngoalnigeria.com can confirm.
The one time Super Eagles invitee who couldn’t honour the invitation due to visa issues showed off his new shirt number 22 in FC Porto first pre season game against PSV Eindhoven which they lost 0-3.
