Owngoalnigeria understands that Celtic are in “advanced talks” with Olympiakos of Greece to sign Nigeria international defender Efe Ambrose who has been at Cletic since 2013.
Ambrose a subject of enquiry from Maccabi Tel Aviv as well appears to be heading to Olympiakos following the speed at which talks with the Greek champions are progressing.
The Nigerian who has fallen down the pecking order at Celtic would be allowed to leave following the club recent capture of veteran Ivorian centre back Kolo Toure.
Details of the deal is yet to be made public but Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that he could join Olympiakos on an initial loan deal before the move will be made permanent next summer although they are chances he could be sold off outrightly.
At Olympiakos he will most likely team up with his international colleague Brown Ideye at the Greek side who are seasoned campaigners in the UEFA Champions League part of the reasons why the Nigerian is willing to join them.
