According to reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com, the impending arrival of Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen is the reason why German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg were quick to sanction the transfer of Andre Schurrle to Borussia Dortmund.
Osimhen top striker for the Nigeria Under-20s who recently failed to qualify for the 2017 Africa Youth Championship following a 3-4 loss to Sudan over the weekend joined Wolfsburg after emerging as top scorer at the last U-17 World Cup in Chile.
However after spending time training with the team he returned back to Nigeria to join the U-20 where he has been the last three months before their last game on Saturday against Sudan which ended their hopes of been at next year Africa Under-20s youth championship.
Owngoalnigeria.com can however confirm that he will resume with Wolfsburg in November, a month to his 18th year birthday which will be on the 29th of December when his contract will turn into a professional one.
Already he has been promised he will be joining the first team before he agreed to shun offers from elsewhere to join the German side and the departure of Schurrle is one of the many steps the club is taking to smoothen his path to the first team before his arrival.
