Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers believes Super Eagles defender Efe Ambrose who is presently facing harsh criticism from fans of the club has the potential to be one of the best defender in his team if he can cut out errors or mistakes during games.
Ambrose heavily criticised for the lone goal Celtic conceded against Gibraltar minnows Lincoln Red Imps two weeks ago in the Champions League is back in favour ahead of their game against Astana of Kazakthan following injury and suspension to the club regular centre backs.
Still linked with a move to Olympiakos of Greece this summer despite strong interest from Maccabi Tel Aviv of Israel , the 27 year old according to manager Brendan Rodgers has the pre requisite to be a super defender if he cuts out the little errors that has characterize his game so far.
“In terms of Efe, I think everyone has seen and people have seen him a lot more than I have, and he knows that if he can cut out mistakes or errors he makes in games then you’ve got a very good player” He said.
“Physically he’s very strong, he’s fast,he’s good in the air, it just about decision making and simplifying the game. If he can do that, he can he an asset”.
