BREAKING: Liverpool Set To Loan Awoniyi To Dutch Side NEC Nijmegen

According to the electronic edition of Liverpoolecho, Liverpool Nigerian Youth forward Taiwo Awoniyi who was recently dropped from the final list of 18 players picked to represent Nigeria at the Olympics in Rio is close to agreeing a loan deal with Dutch side NEC Nijmegen.

Awoniyi joined Liverpool last summer and was immediately loaned to Germany’s second division side FSV Frankfurt where he made 14 appearances with a goal to his name.

NEC Nijmegen are reportedly in the driving seat to sign Awoniyi due to the close relationship between coach of the Dutch side Peter Hyballa, who worked with Liverpool boss Jurgen Kloop as U-19 coach during the German’s time at Borussia Dortmund.

The Kloop relationship with the coach of the team,as mentioned above gave the Dutch side the edge over teams like Hajduk Split of Croatia and Tondela in Portugal who have also expressed interest in the 18 year old.
