UCL QUALIFIERS: Battle Of Nigerian Trio Ends In Stalemate

The UEFA Champions League 3rd Qualifying Round tie between Olympiakos of Greece and Israeli side Hapoel Be’er Sheva ended in a 0-0 draw, with the Nigerian trio of Brown Ideye, Anthony Nwakaeme and John Ogu failing to hit the back of the net for their respective sides.

Olympiakos had Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye on from the start, but he failed to give them the victory they so much needed at home against the Israeli who had John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme on from the start as well.

Ogu who was on target in their first round 3-2 win over Sheriff lasted the entire duration of the game, putting in a strong shift that saw him booked in the 26th minute while Nwakaeme was on till the final minute of time added on before he was substituted.

The result swings the advantage of the tie in the way of the Nigerian duo of Nwakaeme and Ogu, but the experience of Olympiakos could throw the tie open when the reverse tie takes place in a week time.
