MS Zilina summer signing Yusuf Otubanjo, has raced to the top of the scorers chart in Slovakia after scoring his second consecutive brace to help his team thrash Tatran Presov 4-0.
The free scoring Nigerian forward started off his stint in Slovakia with a brace against Ruzomberok, in their first league game before netting in the 37th and 51st minute against Tatran Presov.
His tally of four goals in two games makes him the top marksman in the league after two games, a sure proof that his goal scoring exploits in Austria was by no means a mere coincidence.
23 year old Otubanjo moved to Zilina from Austria’s low division side FC Blau-Weiss Linz, where he scored an astonishing 28 goals from 26 games, a season after scoring 6 in 13 games.
Otubanjo who has been in Europe since 2012, is finally showing the stuff that made Red Bull Salzburg took a gamble by signing him from Nigeria, where he had no experience of league football.
He failed to make the grades at the top Austrian side, playing just 13 minutes of league football before he was released to join low division side FC Pasching/Lask Juniors.
