EXCLUSIVE: MLS Side Portland Timbers Join Scramble For Gbenga Arokoyo


Free agent Gbenga Arokoyo is on the radar of Major League Soccer (MLS) side Portland Timbers according to reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com.


23 year old Arokoyo, cancelled his contract with Turkish side Gaziantepspor and has been linked with moves to another Turkish team, with some other sources claiming he could return back to Sweden where he once starred for Mjallby.

However sources close to the player, who has two caps for the senior national team of Nigeria confirmed he could be heading to the MLS , where he could possibly join Portland Timber, the team that presently has Nigerian striker Fanendo Adi on their books.

The central defender has been in Europe since 2012, raking up an impressive 83 appearances during his stints in Sweden and Turkey with Mjallby and Gaziantepspor.
