Rivers United forward Bernard Ovoke is back in Nigeria after failing to secure a deal with Norwegian side Lillestrom, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively report.
Ovoke spent close to two weeks in Norway with Lillestrom, but wasn’t offered a deal due to reasons that we couldn’t confirm as at the time of going to press.
The forward is back to Nigeria according to a source who has full knowledge of the deal and he has promised to furnish more details about what lead to the deal not to happen.
“Ovoke is back in Nigeria, it’s unfortunate but the deal didn’t work, am driving now but I will give you the full details of what lead to the collapse of the deal” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.
Lillestom were hoping the forward will replace fellow Nigerian Friday fred, who recently joined Dutch side AZ Alkmaar after four seasons in Norway.
