23 year old Nigerian defender Gbenga Arokoyo says he is fit and ready for his Major League Soccer debut when Portland Timbers take on Seattle Sounders this Sunday.
Signed on a free transfer after terminating his contract with Turkish side Gaziantepspor due to non payment of his wages, his debut was initially delayed due to international clearance but that has been sorted out.
In a chat with Owngoalnigeria.com, the two cap Super Eagles defender said all that needed to be done has been put in place, and if selected he is fit and ready for his debut this weekend.
The former Nigeria Under-20 defender also thanked one time Super Eagles invitee Fanendo Adi for helping him settle into his new surroundings in the United State of America.
“I have been training real hard the last one week and thanks to Fanendo Adi have settled in nicely, am hoping to play my first game this weekend when we play Seattle Sounders” Arokoyo told Owngoalnigeria.com.
