REVEALED: Nigeria Olympic Goalkepper Played As a Striker In NPFL Few Seasons Ago

Enugu Rangers and Nigeria Under-23 goalkepper Emmanuel Daniel says Nigeria premier league team Shooting Stars thought he was a striker three years ago when they invited him for trials.

Daniel told that he played as an outfield player for Ranchers Bees in a league game at the end of the season after they were relegated in a game against Shooting Stars in Ibadan.

“In Ibadan I played for Ranchers Bees against Shooting Stars as a striker and after the game they invited me for trials without knowing am a goalkepper” He said

“We were short of players after our relegation as most of them refused to travel for the game,I wasn’t first choice I was second to George Michael (now at El-Kanemi) so I dressed as a player.

“It was when I arrived for trials that I told them am a goalkepper and they were shocked but still they let me try out and the rest as they say is history”.
