Obaje Puts Move Abroad On Hold For Top Scorer And League Crown

Godwin Obaje has put all talks about a transfer abroad on hold to focus on his ambition of lifting the Nigeria Premier League title with Wikki Tourist, as well as the top scorer award.

Heavily linked with a move to Sfaxien of Tunisia and two teams in Israel, the shy talking forward who recently turned down a contract offer from HJK Helsinki of Finland is fully focused on finishing as top scorer and winning the Nigeria League.

Obaje,19, extended his top scorer lead with a match winning brace against MFM FC to take his season tally to 16. The 2-1 win also helped his team returned to the top of the Nigeria Professional League table.

” To God be the glory, offers have been coming but for now I have put a stop to hearing about move abroad, my sight is firmly on finishing as top scorer and lifting the league title with Wikki” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” I want to leave Wikki Tourist on a high, for he fans, the chairman, who is like a father to me and the coach who gave me a second chance despite the fact that I left them midway into last season to chase a career abroad.

” By the grace of God, the last Nigeria team I will play for is Wikki Tourist unless they say they don’t want me”.
