A close friend to Dream Team VI forward Imoh Ezekiel has revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com, that the 22 year old forward is closing in on a return to Standard Liege of Belgium.
His move to Standard Liege is almost a done deal as the forward wants to stay in Europe, but his Qatari side Al-Arabi are only open to the idea of allowing leave on loan.
Last season he was on loan to Anderlecht but struggled to get game time as he managed only 20 appearances with a goal to his name during his time at the club.
Heavily linked with a move to a top club after his strong showing for the Nigerian team that won bronze at the Olympics, he is however close to rejoining his first ever team in Europe in his bid to re- launch his European career.
Invited by newly appointed manager of the Super Eagler Genort Rohr for the AFCON 2017 qualifiers against Tanzania, his move will most probably be completed by Monday, ahead of the close of the transfer window on Wednesday.
Ezekiel spent three happy seasons at the modest Belgian side from 2011 to 2014, before moving to Al-Arabi of Qatar, however he returned back to Standard Liege six months later citing loneliness in the oil rich nation of Qatar.
