21 year old Nigerian forward Moses Simon opened his goal account for the season in Gent 2-2 draw against Anderlecht in a Belgian top division league game.
Simon restored parity for Gent in the 21st minute three minutes after they have gone behind, in the star game of the Belgian league this weekend.
The Nigeria international was booked for his excessive celebrations after his goal, a goal that ended a run of over four months without a goal for the former AS Trencin star.
Last season was his worst in terms of goals as he only managed three strikes, as opposed to his first six months in Belgium when he found the back of the net 7 times to lead Gent to the title.
He will head for Nigeria tomorrow in buoyant mood ahead of Nigeria’s clash against Tanzania in the AFCON 2017 qualifiers, which Nigeria are using to give new manager Genort Rohr a test of what to expect as Nigeria is already out of the race to reach next year Africa Cup of Nations.
