Former captain of the Nigeria Under-23s Erhun Obanor will today depart the shores of Nigeria for Germany to resume his professional career with Greuther Furth, according to reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com.
Signed by the second divison German side two months ago, but the full back who was at a time rated as one of the best teen prospect in Nigeria couldn’t resume with the team due to issues bothering on work permit.
However, he has received his papers and will leave Lagos by 20:40 GMT for Istanbul via Turkish airlines. He is expected to arrive Istanbul at around 5:20GMT the next day before connecting a flight to Nuremburg by 10:05 same day.
The former MFM and Abia Warriors defender will defend the colours of promotion chasing Greuther Furth in jersey number 26, although he is not likely to make his debut when they take on Fortuna Dusseldorf this weekend.
Greuther Furth have won two of their first three games of the new season, and presently place 4th on the log after three rounds of games.
