Rohr Blows Hot Over Poor State Of Uyo Pitch, Gives Conditions For Team’s Return

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has expressed his displeasure over the condition of the turf at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, where the Super Eagles defeated Tanzania 1-0.

” The stadium is wonderful. It was full for the game. The people love the team$ and they support them but the pitch is not so good. We tried to play well on a bad pitch. But when we want to play good football I think we must have good pitch. I think there are too many games and training being done on the pitch” He said.

Rohr was also unhappy with the floodlight issues that made the team end their Tuesday training session earlier than planned, and also stopped their friendly game with Akwa United with 20 minutes left to play.

Rounding up on the pitch issues he asked the management of the stadium to be more professional in their conduct, if they want the Eagles to continue playing their games in Uyo.
