Gbolahan Salami Nets Match Winning Brace For Finnish Side KuPS

Nigeria international Gbolahan Salami scored two second half goals to lead his Finnish side KuPS to a hard earned 2-1 win over Mariehamn in a Veikkausliiga game.

Salami grabbed his brace in six minutes, with his first coming via the spot in the 57th minute before netting his second in the 63rd minute to help his side win 2-1 in front of their home fans.

The brace took his goals tally for the season to 10 goals with four in his last five games in the league. A sign of how much of an influence he has had in helping KuPS keep their dream of European football alive.

He was one of four Nigerians who played in the game for the Finnish side, with his Nigerian compatriot of Paul Onobi, Azubuike Egwuekwe and Aliyu Abubakar also on for the entire duration of the tie.

Egwuekwe got booked in the 63rd minute, the 5th booking for the 25 year old which rules him out of their next league tie.
