Former Manchester City fans favourite Trevor Sinclair has urged manager Pep Guardiola to start Nigerian teen prospect Kelechi Iheanacho, ahead of Spanish forward Nolito in tomorrow’s game against Manchester United.
Iheanacho is facing a battle on his hands to start against their city rivals with new signing Leroy Sane fully fit and Nolito highly favoured to play alongside Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne in attack.
The Nigerian warmed up for the derby clash with a wonder strike for Nigeria in a dead rubber AFCON 2017 tie against Tanzania, which gave Nigeria a 1-0 win in new manager Gernot Rohr first game in charge.
His goal scoring prowess according to Sinclair while speaking to Premier League TV news said the record of the teen forward makes him one of the few players who could decide the tie in City’s forward.
” He has a very good goal scoring record among all the strikers available to the manager, following the ban to Sergio Kun Aguero. I expect him to start. He is someone who can decide the game in Man City’s forward” He said.
