Former Nigeria Premier League top scorer Gbolahan Salami whose brace helped his Finnish side KuPS to a 2-1 win over Mariehamn last week, has once again bailed his team out in a league game.
25 year old Salami drew KuPS level in the 80th minute via the spot after LAHTI took the lead in the 39th minute of the tie. The one point earned courtesy of Salami’s strike moved KuPS to 5th position on the log.
He was one of the four Nigerians who started the game for KuPS with Aliyu Abubakar, Paul Onobi and Azubuike Egwuekwe also named in the starting line up.
The goal was his 11th of the season in Finland, a sign of how quick he has settled into his new surroundings after spending the majority of his career in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Presently he is three goals away from the top scorer of the league Roope Riski who has 14 goals for table toppers SJK.
