A die hard fan of CSKA Moscow Alan Dubrev has advised the manager of Leicester City Claudio Ranieri on how to get the best out of Leicester City record buy Ahmed Musa.
Musa joined the club this summer on a club record transfer fee from CSKA Moscow, although that fee was broken when Leicester splash big on Islam Slimani of FC Porto.
The Nigerian scored 42 goals in the four and half years he spent in Russia with CSKA Moscow after his transfer from VV Venlo of Holland during the 2011/2012 January transfer window.
However the Nigerian is yet to fully integrate into the playing system of the team and according to Dubrev, it’s all down to the role the manager is handing to the 23 year old.
“Musa has pace but he is not a winger, playing him on the wings is restricting him to half of his abilities. He has pace and create goals but his pace is best utilise when he applies it in the box than on the flanks. Take a look at the goals he scored against Barcelona in the pre season friendly?” Dubrev told Owngoalnigeria.com
” When he came to CSKA Moscow, the coaches did same mistake at the start like Ranieri is doing at the moment playing him from the flanks. That season he only scored once although he spent just six months as he joined in January.
” The next season he scored 11 goals after he was given a role as the main striker playing in front of a playmaker in a 4-4-2 system. Since then he has been scoring double digit goals bar the 2013/2014 season when injury slowed him down after 7 goals”.
