Former Nigeria international Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi is having a purple patch in front of goal in Sweden after netting a brace for AlK in a 2-2 draw against Elfsborg.
The former Schalke 04 forward is hoping to relaunch his career in Sweden after almost two seasons without playing any form of competitive football, and so far, it has been a case of so far, so good for the former Hoffeinheim hitman.
30 year old Obasi now has four goals in five games, with three coming in his last two games for AlK. A sign of how much he has put aside the fitness issues that have haunted him in the past.
He moved to AlK of Sweden as a free agent in August, at a time many thought he was going to return back to Norway, where he started his career in Europe in 2005.
Obasi’s choice of Sweden is bearing fruits going by his present run in front of goal despite last playing in a competitive game on the 8th of November 2014 before his release by Schalke 04.
