Al-Ahly big money Nigerian signing Junior Ajayi endeared himself to fans of his new side with a brace in a 6-2 friendly win over Shiko.
Ajayi was signed for $2 million from Tunisian side Sfaxien as a replacement for Evouna who left for China after powering the Cairo giants to the league title with 12 goals.
“The Shiko friendly game was useful as I followed all the technical instructions, so I am happy with my performance during the game,” Ajayi told reporters after the friendly.
“I dealt with the friendly game as if it were an official one to meet the coach’s expectations.”
“I am confident of joining the team’s starting lineup during the coming league games,” Ajayi added.
“I am following the coach’s instructions during trainings to improve my performance as I hope to please Ahly’s fans, who are waiting for more from me during the coming games,” the Nigerian attacker concluded.
