Alhaji Gero Breaks One Year Goal Drought With Brace For Swedish Side

Former Nigeria youth international Alhaji Gero ended a barren spell in front of goal with a brace for Swedish side Ostersunds FK in their 6-2 rout over Falkenberg.

Gero who represented Nigeria at the 2013 U-20 World Cup struck two goals within a space of two minutes, in the 43rd and 45th minute respectively to give his side a commanding 3-1 lead going into the half time break.

His last league goal came over a year ago, while he was still at Danish side Viborg, where he netted in their 3-0 thrashing of Bronshoj on the 30th of March 2015.

Since then the 22 year old has been struggling in front with no goal to show in the 8 games he played for Viborg when they got relegated before his move to Ostersunds FK.

He endured a goal drought that lasted 16 games before finally scoring in the 17th as his team romped to a big win over Falkenberg.
