The coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has introduced new methods of training the players of the senior Nigeria national team to help them overcome the poor playing surface of the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, which was completed in 2012 has a natural grass playing turf. But the condition of the turf due to constant use has damaged a significant part of the playing surface.
In order to be able to overcome the bad surface, Rohr yesterday introduced a special session, which Owngoalnigeria.com won’t mention for technical reasons but the new method could see Moses Simon drop out of the starting eleven for Ahmed Musa.
Also, the team worked a lot on one aspect of their game that has troubled Nigeria in recent times but could be the joker for the tie in Zambia owing to the bad playing surface.
Yesterday’s session which lasted a little above 15 minutes was more of technical and tactical instructions by the manager, who is using his vast experience of Africa football to good effect.
