Nigeria Rio 2016 Olympic hero Sadiq Umar has spoken out about his chances of making the Super Eagles squad to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The former Roma prospect who moved to Bologna this summer in a co-ownership deal is still waiting for his maiden call up to the senior Nigeria national team, but he believes things can change before then.
Sadiq, scorer of four goals for Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics which Nigeria won gold is pinning his chances of making the Nigeria team for the World Cup on his club form.
” For now am focused on my club. I strongly believe if my form is good for Bologna, it will enhance my chances of making the Super Eagles squad” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” Every player wants to play at the World Cup and, hopefully Nigeria will qualify for the next one in Russia, where am hoping to make the team on merit by doing well for Bologna”.
