The lack of game time, the Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi and vice captain Ahmed Musa are currently suffering in England for their respective side has forced a reaction from coach of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr.
Mikel is yet to play a competitive game under new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, no thanks to his participation at the Rio 2016 Olympics which saw him resume late for the start of the season.
On his part, big money buy Ahmed Musa has fallen out of favour at Leicester City, missing out on selection in their last two games. But the duo have kept their places in the Nigeria squad, featuring at different intervals during Nigeria latest 2-1 win over Zambia in Ndola.
Rohr has showed concern and will speak to the players on the situation and if possible their managers.
” It’s not the best situation a manager will hope for two of his senior players. But we understand that they play for teams that have high competition for places. We will however in the coming days have a chat with them on the way forward” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” If need be talks with their respective managers will also be a welcome idea. For now we will stay put and see if they get games before our next game” He concluded.
