According to reports gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com , Algeria have made significant progress in their search for a replacement for the sacked Milovan Rajevac ahead of their World Cup 2018 qualifiers clash against Nigeria.
Algeria parted ways with Rajevac, three months and three games into his reign as coach of the team after they started their World Cup 2018 qualifiers on a shaky note with a 1-1 draw at home to Cameroon.
After been linked with several coaches, latest reports indicate that they are neck deep in talks with Hubert Fournier, who last coached Olympique Lyon in France.
49 year old Fournier is reportedly interested in the job and talks are well underway for his appointment, which the FA hope to announce before their game against Nigeria in Uyo next month.
Fournier was sacked as coach of Lyon in 2014 after just a year as coach and he has been without a job since then. Prior to moving to Lyon he coaches Gueugnon and Reims.
