EXCLUSIVE: Paul Onobi Sacked As Finnish Side KuPS Extends Salami’s Deal By One Year

It was a tale of different tales for different folks, for the Nigerian duo of Gbolahan Salami and Paul Onobi when Finnish side KuPS had their end of season meeting with the players.

Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that CHAN 2016 Nigerian midfielder Paul Onobi was told in clear terms that his services are no longer required by the club, no thanks to disciplinary issues during the course of last season.

The former Sunshine Stars and Warri Wolves midfielder made 22 appearances for the team last season, but had issues bothering on indiscipline, which made the club turn down the option of extending his deal by another year as contained in his contract.

Meanwhile, Salami who finished the season on a high by breaking a 15 year old club goal record with 14 goals scored this season, had his contract extended by a year as earlier agreed in his initial deal in February when he joined the Finnish side.
