Iwobi usually deployed on the left by Arsene Wenger, was this time around given a role in the midfield. The role that is usually reserve for star midfielder Mesut Ozil.

The Nigerian had a first half to forget but recovered brilliantly in the second half, and impressed with neat passes and strong runs which kept the backline of the visitors under pressure.

He came close to scoring with a rasping drive from his weaker foot, the left but the strength in the shot brought out a punched save from goalkeeper Omar Al-Habsi.

However, he missed a glorious chance to score his first goal of the season, when he horribly miscue a ball that dropped for him in the Reading box, with goalkepper Al-Habsi in no man’s land.
