Nigeria Coach In London For Meeting With Conte Over Mikel’s Lack Of Playing Time & Possibly Aina Over Switch Of Nationality

The manager of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr will meet with the coach of Chelsea Antonio Conte for talks on lots of issues, including the lack of playing time captain of the Nigeria national team John Obi Mikel is experiencing at Chelsea.

Later today, he will meet with Conte, and just like the manager revealed during the Super Eagles presser before their departure for Ndola Zambia for their first World Cup 2018 qualifiers, which they won 2-1, he will speak with Conte on giving games to Mikel.

” I will have talks with the coach of Leicester City and Chelsea to know why Ahmed Musa and Mikel Obi are not playing games. I will try to plead with them to see if they can be featuring in games for the youth sides” He said a month ago.

Mikel is still waiting for his first competitive appearance under Conte as coach of Chelsea, although he could feature in today’s EFL Cup tie against West Ham.

Despite his lack of game time at Chelsea, he has played twice for Nigeria within that same period, and only recently Rohr confirmed that Mikel is about the only player, who will continue to play in his team even if he doesn’t get to play for his club.

We also gathered, he could as well have an introductory meeting with young Chelsea prospect Ola Aina, who is yet to make up his mind about dumping England where he is a youth international for the senior national team of Nigeria.
