As Nigerians await the release of the list of players for the Super Eagles tie against Algeria, Owngoalnigeria.com can confirm the inclusion of some players in the list by manager Gernot Rohr.
Rohr confirmed to Owngoalnigeria.com that changes will be made to the squad that defeated Zambia 2-1 in Ndola, as some fresh faces will be brought in for the November 12th tie against Algeria.
One of the names we gathered is on the list is Russian born former Zenith St. Petersburg Nigerian defender Brian Idowu who plays for Amkar Perm in the Russian top division league.
24 year old Idowu is a full back who can play either on the left or right side of defence, and he will challenge the likes of Elderson Echiejile and Wilfred Ndidi for the full back position.
He was born and raised in Russia and has only once visited Nigeria in his life time, as report has it that he was in Owerri when he was about 3-6 year old.
This season he has made 11 appearances for Amkar Perm, where he has been since the 2011/2012 season when he left Zenith St. Petersburg.
