The recently concluded Norwegian football season had as much as eight Nigerians playing in the top flight and a couple more in the lower division.
Among the lot, one who has not been heavily talked about or heard off is Thompson Unachi Ekpe who recently won the second divison title with Kristiansund. A team he joined on loan from top division side Molde.
Standing at over six feet tall, the Kaduna born defensive midfielder left Molde for Kristiansund in July in search of more games, a decision which paid off for the 19 year old.
At Kristiansund, he played the last six games which helped them navigate their way to the top division. But he could return back to Molde before the start of next season, as he still has a contract with them.
” Am happy to have emerged Champion in my debut season in Europe as a professional footballer. It was a steep learning curve for me, as this is my first season as a footballer. I will return to Molde for pre season. We see how it goes from there” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.
