Former topscorer in the Nigeria Premier league Gbolahan Salami, who had a successful first season with Finnish side KuPS could leave the team in the January transfer window.
Salami ended the season in Finland with 14 goals, a new record of goals scored in a single season for his team, but reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com has it that Qatari side Al-Arabi and MLS team Seattle Sounders have established contact with his representatives.
The 26 year old has one more year to go on his contract after KuPS triggered the option of a further year, but they are open to his sale if interested teams meet their valuation of the power playing forward.
” Yes there is contact from the MLS, particularly from Seattle Sounders, we wait still because Al-Arabi of Qatar have also indicated interest in his services. January isn’t far off but I don’t think he will be sold in January”, Kazeem Tunji who works with Salami’s intermediary told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” Offers will come in from other European countries but for now the serious bid on the table is from the teams I mentioned. If he stays at KuPS till next summer, the prospect of joining a big team in mainstream Europe can’t be ruled out”.
